Among Korn/Ferry’s most prominent practice centers, the Financial Officers Practice was launched in 1997 with a core group of consultants dedicated entirely to helping our clients ensure that their financial talent is best-in-class. We manage the recruitment of a broad range of financial roles including the Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Controller and Treasurer, as well as leading roles in Internal Audit, Tax, Strategic Planning and Divisional Finance. Today, the Practice includes 35 people dispersed around the world. The complexity of the role of CFO grows with each passing day and CFO’s are facing greater scrutiny than ever before – and the bar for performance continues to rise even as the demands on the Chief Financial Officer get greater and greater. Guaranteeing the integrity of the company’s financial condition and reported results, enhancing shareholder value, developing more effective uses of technology, growing by acquisition, establishing an optimal risk management framework and, of course, cost-cutting are areas that continue to dominate a financial officer’s agenda. In addition to managing the organization’s capital structure to best implement corporate strategy, the CFO today, for example, must ensure that adequate controls are implemented to ensure asset preservation, funding optimization, and cash generation.
