Position Background
The Capture Manager is focused on creating and business opportunities using an enterprise-wide strategic vision and a laser-like focus on anticipating, understanding then solving customer problems by delivering timely, cost effective solutions. The Capture Manager will conduct key pursuits and drive the execution of the SAS Capture process including development of a winning strategy, price to win, competitive analysis assessment, preparing and conducting Gate reviews and strategy reviews at the business and SAS level.
The Capture Manager will report to the TAS Business Development Executive and the RACR Program Manager. Successful candidate will have knowledge and experience developing creative solutions to offsets and various contracting vehicles including FMS and DCS. The Capture Manager works with the Business Area and Growth Platforms organization that will own the pursuit once won. This role is also responsible for providing tactical day to day oversight and guidance of key pursuit activities including managing the financials associated with each pursuit.
Key Responsibilities of the Director, I Capture Manangement:
- Directs and controls the pursuit NBI budget and schedule and ensures adherence to Capture Management and PM Best Practices, Gate reviews and strategic planning for future business and development of technology roadmaps.
- The Capture Manager is required to assess and resolve conflicting priorities and asset allocations between multiple concurrent pursuits in both development and pursuit phases.
- Conducts briefings and technical meetings for SAS and Raytheon LT, Operations and Business Development as well as internal and external customers.
- The Capture Manager is accountable for the development and execution of activities related to the assigned capture opportunity, from initial gate through contract award.
- Responsible for secondary customer interface for these programs as well as development of close relationship with customers (Government and Prime).
- Responsible for the financial, technical, schedule and contractual aspects for the pursuits.
- Must be able to prioritize and drive tasks to completion with resulting high quality output.
- Competitive analysis for current pursuit - identify competitors (current and emerging) and define their inherent strengths (leadership, technology capabilities, technology roadmap/investment positions and rationale, the dynamics of their political affiliations, incumbent program situations, current teaming arrangements and synergy benefits, marketplace reputation, long-term leverage opportunities, intended strategies, etc.), identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses, what programs they chasing and why and develop associated strategies.
Applicant resumes/CVs must demonstrate:
- Must have 14 years of related experience.
- At least ten years of experience in managing a diverse program portfolio of over $500 million.
- Experience with Program Management processes and best practices.
- Proven experience in anticipating and managing program risk on critical production-centric programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively at EXCOMs with both Raytheon and strategic partner company officers.
- Excellent and proven customer focused vision, marketing and strategy skills.
- Previous experience in the development and execution of large strategic supplier teaming agreements as a Prime Contractor or Mission Systems Integrator. International business development experience.
- System Development and Demonstration (SDD) Phase experience (including hardware and software demonstration).
- Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
EDUCATION
Bachelor degree in science/engineering or business required. A Masters degree is preferred.
